Constantine, John

CONSTANTINE, John (1839-1913) was active in London, Ont. where he formed a partnership with George Watson in January 1875 (see list of works under Watson & Constantine). When Watson retired in 1882 Constantine continued to practice under his own name until after 1890. In addition to maintaining his office in London he devoted nearly six years of his career to serving as Clerk of Works to Joseph Connolly on the construction of the Church of Our Lady (Roman Catholic) in Guelph, Ont. (Daily Advertiser [London], 10 Oct. 1888, 1). Constantine moved to Toronto after 1890 and died there on 7 September 1913 (obituary Toronto Daily Star, 8 Sept. 1913, 2)
