Collingwood, Thomas

COLLINGWOOD, Thomas (fl. 1847-65) was active in Hamilton, Ont. where he was among the first members of the profession to practice (Hamilton Gazette, 25 March 1847, advert.). His name continues to appear in local directories until 1865, but only two of his works have been identified. In 1863 he designed a commercial block for Kirk & Clarke on Metcalfe Street, ELORA, ONT. (Canadian Illustrated News [Hamilton], 19 Dec. 1863, 56; 2 Jan. 1864, 85, illus.). The following year he designed a residence for Dr. Henry Henwood, Main Street near McNab Street, HAMILTON, ONT. (Spectator [Hamilton], 22 April 1864, 2, t.c.)
