Collinge, Raymond Henry

COLLINGE, Raymond Henry (1878-1955) was born at Twickenham, Middlesex, Engl. in 1878 and articled with Charles Hack (in 1896-1900), and assisted in the offices of H.B. Creswell (in 1901-03) and with T. Chatfield Clarke, FRIBA in London (in 1904-05). He emigrated to Canada in 1908 and took a position with Darling & Pearson, the largest and busiest architectural office in Toronto, where he was employed until 1913. He then worked as draftsman for the Toronto Hydro Electric System (in 1913-18) and for Wickson & Gregg (in 1919-20). He commenced practice under his own name in 1921 and was active until after 1940. Much of his practice was devoted to residential work, and he was an active member of the Arts & Letters Club of Toronto. Collinge died in Toronto on 31 January 1955 (obit.
