Chow, W.H.

CHOW, W.H. (fl. 1908-22) may be one of the first successful Chinese-Canadian architects to practice in Canada. He appears in the 1911 Vancouver City Directory as "contractor", but he soon expanded the range of services which he offered to include that of "architect" (Henderson's Directory of Vancouver, 1911, 562). From his office in the Chinatown district of Vancouver, B.C. he designed a variety of commercial and institutional projects for clients from the Chinese community in that city (D. Luxton, Building the West: The Early Architects of British Columbia, 2003, 284, 495)
