Charlton, William A.

CHARLTON, William A. (1892-1944) active in Toronto from 1929, was the son of William B. Charlton, a prominent Toronto builder and contractor. Born on 25 June 1892 he was educated at Parkdale Collegiate and studied architecture through correspondence courses. He gained much of his knowledge of construction from his father who he assisted from 1919 to 1929. Morgan overlooking the Humber River at WESTON, ONT., 1933 (C.R., xlvii, 4 Oct. 1933, 36) and a residence for R.H. Stewart, PORT CREDIT, ONT. c. 1943 (C.H.G., xxiii, May 1946, 20, illus.). Charlton died in Toronto on 11 November 1944 (death notice Toronto Star, 13 Nov. 1944, 22; inf. Ontario Assoc. of Architects)
