Carson, Thornton MacKay

CARSON, Thonton MacKay (1890- c. 1964) of Port Arthur, Ont. was one of more than sixty entrants in the competition for the new Departmental Buildings in Ottawa in 1914 (NAC, RG11, Vol 2952, File 5370-1B). His entry was not among the six finalists. In 1914 he prepared plans for the parsonage for Trinity Methodist Church, PORT ARTHUR, ONT. (Daily News [Port Arthur], 11 July 1914, illus.). He was born in Minnesota in 1890 and moved to the Port Arthur region after 1910. He left Canada after WW1 and moved to Los Angeles, Calif. where he continued his career as a professional architect (Alhambra City Directory, 1924, 90). He was still living and working there in 1964.
