Cameron, George Allan

CAMERON, George Allan (1853-1919) was born in Ontario on 22 August 1853 and was active in Saskatchewan after 1890 where he formed a partnership with Alexander M. Fraser at Indian Head in 1897 (see list of works under Fraser & Cameron). By 1901 he had relocated to Moose Jaw where he received instructions to prepare plans for the Roman Catholic Church, Manitoba Street, MOOSE JAW, SASK. (Moose Jaw Times, 3 May 1901, 8). He may be the same 'Mr. Cameron, architect' who designed The Commercial Hotel, in the Strathcona neighbourhood at EDMONTON, ALTA. (Edmonton Bulletin, 7 May 1904, 4). Cameron died at Milestone, Sask. on 23 October 1919 (inf. Gordon Fulton, Moose Jaw)
