Fortin, Jean Charles

FORTIN, Jean Charles (1915-1976) was born in Robertsonville, Que. on 14 December 1915 and graduated from the Ecole des-Beaux-Arts in Montreal in 1941. He trained under James Meadowcroft (in 1941-44) then opened his own office in Val d'Or, Que. in 1945 where a number of his early works were designed in a modernist style. He died in Montreal on 22 April 1976 (biog. and port. Biographies Francaises d'Amerique, 1950, 812; inf. Province of Quebec Assoc. of Architects).
