Gonne, William H.

GONNE, William H. (1834-1915) was born in Vermont on 18 April 1834, son of a Baptist minister. He came to Canada in 1855 or 1856 and opened an architectural office in Chatham in 1872 (Chatham Weekly Planet, 22 Feb. 1872, 3, advert.). He was '..an architect and superintendent of building in the early days of Chatham, and he planned and superintended most of old buildings now standing in the Maple City'.
