Martin, Louis Gustave | Biographical Dictionary of Architects in Canada

MARTIN, Louis Gustave (1846-1879), born in Quebec and educated at the college at L'Assumption, Que., was later elected as a member of the provincial parliament for the district of Montcalm. He formed a partnership with J.R. Poitras in Montreal in 1877 (see list of works under Poitras & Martin). Their collaboration abruptly ended when Martin died unexpectedly on 5 September 1879 (obit. La Patrie [Montreal], 6 Sept. 1879, 2; La Minerve [Montreal], 6 Sept. 1879, 2; 11 Sept. 1879, 2).
