Rinfret, Pierre Laterriere

RINFRET, Pierre Laterriere (1908-1967) of Quebec City was born there on 12 September 1908 and trained with Beaule & Morissette for two years. He graduated from the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Quebec in 1934 and formed a partnership with Maurice Bouchard in December of that year (see list of works under Bouchard & Rinfret). They were joined by a third partner Gaston Amyot in 1937 and practised together as Amyot, Bouchard & Rinfret until 1946 when Amyot left the firm. The office of Bouchard & Rinfret remained active until 1956, then Rinfret opened an office under his own name and continued to practice until his death on 3 Sepetmber 1967 (obit. l'Action [Quebec City], 5 Sept. 1967, 17; biog. and port. Biographies Francaises d'Amerique, 1950, 818; inf. Province of Quebec Assoc. of Architects). The Archives Nationales du Quebec at Ste. Foy holds a collection of nearly 3,000 drawings prepared by Rinfret and his partners during the period from 1935 to 1967.
