SMITH, Brendan of Pittburgh, Penn. designed 'Kilcaire', a substantial summer residence on BEAUMARIS ISLAND, MUSKOKA in 1910 or 1911 (P.W. Ahlbrandt, Beaumaris, 1989, 151). The house was built for Daniel Clemson, a wealthy Industrialist from Pittsburgh.
