Sigouin, Amedee Moise

SIGOUIN, Amedee Moise (1869-1912) practised in Montreal and is likely the same 'Mr. Seguin' [sic] who submitted a design in the Ice Palace Competition for Dominion Square in 1888 (Gazette [Montreal], 19 Nov. 1888, 7, descrip.). His submission was not premiated however, and the commission was awarded to Hopkins & Radford. Sigouin joined the Province of Quebec Association of Architects on 5 July 1898 and later designed several works for the Roman Catholic Church in Quebec and in Vermont, USA. His career ended abruptly in 1912 when he died at age 42 (obituary and port. in La Presse [Montreal], 8 Jan. 1912, 2)
