WOODBURN, Ashley (1887-1961) was active in Toronto as a partner with William G. Hunt in 1914-16 (see list of works under Hunt & Woodburn). Born in Dumfries, Scotland on 30 January 1887 he was educated there and came to Canada in 1911. He operated his own practice from 1918 to 1921, then worked in the Toronto office of William Steele & Sons in 1921-23 before joining the City of Toronto as an architectural engineer. In 1950 Woodburn designed the production plant for Kop Beverage Co., Curity Avenue, East York, TORONTO, ONT. (C.R., lxiii, April 1950, 128). He died in Toronto on 17 October 1961 (obit.
