Wilson, Ewart G.

WILSON, Ewart G. (1881-1941) of Toronto, Ont. was the designer of some of the first multi-unit apartment blocks erected in that city in the early 20th century. Born at Toronto on 26 August 1881 he was the son of David Wilson, a pioneer shoe merchant. Wilson attended Collingwood High School but left there in 1895 and from 1897 to 1908 he worked in Toronto as an apprentice and assistant to J. Francis Brown. He opened his own office in early 1909 and maintained his practice until the late 1930's when he retired. He was briefly in partnership with Franklin E.
