Ware, Edwin

WARE, Edwin (1823-1900) was born in Exeter, England and practised as an architect in St. Thomas, Ontario from 1875 until after 1888. He was briefly in partnership with James Bell, a civil engineer and surveyor, with whom he offered services as 'architects, surveyors and engineers' (C.B. Richardson, Directory of the Town of St. Thomas, 1879, 162). By 1882 he had been joined by his son Alfred (1847- ), but the family appears to have moved from St. Thomas by 1890 and relocated to the State of Washington. He may be the same "Edwin Ware" who died in Dungeness, Washington, USA on 27 October 1900 (inf. England & Wales, National Probate Calender, Index of Wills & Administration, 1903, p. 69, entry for Edwin Ware; inf. Paul Baldwin, Ottawa)
