Walsh, James

WALSH, James (fl. 1876-78), an architect and mechanic of Seaforth, Ont., undertook the extensive additions and alterations to the Roman Catholic Church, IRISHTOWN, ONT. in 1876 (Huron Expositor [Seaforth], 22 Dec. 1876, 8, descrip.). It is almost certain that he is the same 'Mr. Walsh' who planned Cardno Music Hall, Main Street, SEAFORTH, ONT., 1877 (Huron Expositor [Seaforth], 28 Dec. 1877, 8, descrip.). No information on his work in Seaforth can be found after 1878, but he may be the same 'James Walsh, Architect' active in Winnipeg, Man. in 1883 who designed five warehouses for A. M. Brown, Point Douglas Avenue, WINNIPEG, MAN. (Manitoba Daily Free Press [Winnipeg], 14 Feb. 1883, t.c.)
