Braniff, Henry

BRANIFF, Henry (1855-1935), an early architect and contractor active in Kitchener, Ont. from c. 1895 until after 1900. He was born in Walkerton, Ont. on 12 May 1855 and his name appears in the Berlin & Waterloo Directory, 1893, p. 10 as a contractor, but he began to offer his services as an architect after 1895. He continued to work as both an architect and contractor until after 1920. Braniff died in Waterloo, Ontario on 7 May 1935. One of the pupils who trained in his office was Charles Cowan of Kitchener.
