Paquette, Paul

PAQUETTE, Paul (1912-1983) lived and worked in Montreal, Que. and was best known for his design of the Montreal METRO Station at the Longueuil Terminus, erected for the new subway system serving the EXPO ’67 site. Born in Montreal on 15 August 1912, he graduated from the local Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Montreal in 1936, and joined the Province of Quebec Assoc. of Architects in May 1937. He continued to live and work in Montreal and Longueuil until after 1970. Paquette later died in Montreal in 1982. A large collection of his architectural drawings dating from 1955 to 1982 is now held at the Bibliotheque et Archives nationales du Quebec in Montreal (inf.
