SHARP, Kendrick or Kenneth, (1869-1935), active in Cumberland, B.C., on Vancouver Island near Nanaimo, B.C., was credited as the architect of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Penrith Avenue at Third Street, CUMBERLAND, B.C., 1895; still standing in 2022. An illustrated perspective drawing, with elevation and description of the new church, of pure Gothic design, was published in The Weekly News (Union, B.C.), 8 Oct. 1895, 4, and in an historical article on the church in the Cumberland Islander, 29 July 1922, 3, descrip. Kendrick Sharp was born in Huntingdonshire County in England in 1869 and emigrated to Canada in 1889. He moved to Victoria, B.C. in 1895 and worked variously as a carpenter, contractor and architect,.and continued to live and work there for the next 40 years.
