Keck, Bert Daniel

KECK, Bert [Bertin] Daniel (1876-1962), architect of Crookston, Minnesota who designed several industrial buildings in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta in the early 20th C. Born in Louisa County in Iowa State on 15 October 1876, no information has been found on his education or training, but he began his career in Crookston shortly after 1900. Keck was active there until c. 1914, then moved to Grand Forks, North Dakota where he continued to practise until 1924 when he relocated to Stuart, Florida, near West Palm Beach, and remained there until 1955. Keck died at Lake Worth in Palm Beach County on 28 July 1962 (obituary Palm Beach Post [West Palm Beach], 30 July 1962, 2). At the time of his death he was a long-standing member of the American Institute of Architects in Washington.
