THOMPSON, William Snowdon (1847-1928) was recorded as an architect for a variety of buildings in the Annex and Harbord Village neighbourhoods of west Toronto. His name also appears as a real estate agent during this period, and he may have designed, and then sold off a variety of projects which are credited to him from 1902 onwards. Born in South Shields, Co. Durham, England on 24 August 1847, he emigrated to Canada in 1866, and was recorded as a Contractor in Toronto in 1881, but by 1891 he was listed as a Real Estate Agent in that city. He retired after 1910 and died in Toronto on 5 May 1928 (death records for York County - Toronto - 1928). Thompson was later buried at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto.
