Vanderlande, Christian Albert

VANDERLANDE, Christian Albert (1888-c. 1965), a native of Holland [now The Netherlands] who was recorded as an architect in London, Ontario and in Windsor, Ont. Vanderlande was born at Hagthon, Holland and emigrated to Canada in 1911. He later became a naturalized citizen of Canada in 1916, and was listed as a cabinet maker in London, Ont. in 1921. By 1925 he began to style himself as an architect, preparing plans for institutional, commercial and residential works in London and, by 1928, in Windsor, Ont. After WWII, he was again living and working in London, Ont. as a draftsman from 1948 until after 1962 (inf. Canada Census records; Province of Ontario Voter’s Lists)
