Tracy, Alban E.

TRACY, Alban E. (1863-1948) was recorded as an architect in Ottawa, Ont. during the period from 1907 until 1916 and after. Born in South March, Ont. on 24 April 1863, he may have been educated and trained in the region of Carleton County. From 1894 until after 1900 he was listed in local directories as a carpenter in Ottawa, and likely gained his knowledge of architecture and construction while working in the building trades. Only a few residential commissions can be linked to his name during the period before WWI, and he appears to have retired from the profession about 1928. Tracy died in Ottawa on 28 May 1948 (obituary Ottawa Journal, 28 May 1948, 16)
