Hettinger, Carl Fritz

HETTINGER, Carl Fritz (1866-1935) of Boston, Mass., was an authority on the design of industrial brewery buildings in North America. In addition to dozens of facilities in the United States he also designed several Canadian brewery complexes in Toronto, Montreal, Quebec City and elsewhere. Born in Freudeustadt, Germany on 16 June 1866, he arrived in Boston, Mass. after 1890 and continued to practise there for over forty years. He died at Roslindale, Mass. on 6 April 1935 (obituary North Adams Transcript [North Adams, Mass.], 8 April 1935, 11).
