Rice, Walter Edwin | Biographical Dictionary of Architects in Canada

RICE, Walter Edwin (1871-1920), a partner in the Vancouver architectural firm of Russell, Babcock & Rice. Born in Maine in 1871, Rice moved to Washington State after 1900 and was a member of the Seattle firm of Russell & Rice in 1909-12. In addition, he was a partner in the Vancouver branch of this office, known as Russell, Babcock & Rice, in 1911-13 (see list of works under Ambrose J. Russell). Rice moved to southern California after 1914 and died in Los Angeles on 9 September 1920 (obit. Vancouver Sun, 13 Sept. 1920, 7; obit. Vancouver Daily World, 13 Sept. 1920, 11). He was later buried at Mountain View Cemetery in Altadena, Calif.
