Mowat, Andrew

MOWAT, Andrew (fl. 1876-1880), an architect active in Toronto where his first tender call for buildings appeared in 1876 requesting bids for a brick villa in Rosedale (Globe [Toronto], 9 Aug. 1876, 3, t.c.). He is likely the same “A. Mowat, architect” who was active in Hamilton (Spectator [Hamilton], 2 April 1878, 1, t.c.). In 1880 he designed a Methodist Church in Markham Township at VICTORIA SQUARE, ONT. (Globe [Toronto], 24 April 1880, 1, t.c.)
