Pollmar, F. Carl

POLLMAR, F. Carl (1872-1961), architect of Detroit, Michigan, was born in San Antonio, Texas on 26 September 1872 and he commenced practise in Detroit in 1899. One of his first commissions was for a summer residence and estate for J. Henry Smith, located “ about two miles east of WALKERVILLE, ONT. on the Detroit River” (Detroit Free Press, 21 May 1899, 11, descrip.). This Canadian estate included a large boat house on the river, and a barn. Pollmar died in Detriot on 17 February 1961 (obituary Detroit Free Press, 19 Feb. 1961, 8)
