Wright, Edmund

WRIGHT, Edmund (1862-1931), active in Vancouver 1908-1911, and later in Edmonton, Alberta from 1911 to 1931. Born in England on 16 July 1862, he arrived in Canada in 1906 and settled in Vancouver c. 1908 where he established a partnership with Robert J. MacDonald from January 1908 (Const., i, Feb. 1908, 34, announcement). By 1911 he had relocated to Edmonton and was recorded as the architect for several commercial, industrial and residential works in that city. Wright died in Edmonton on 19 June 1931 and was buried at Edmonton Municipal Cemetery (death notice Edmonton Journal, 20 June 1931, 22; obit. R.A.I.C. Journal, viii, Sept. 1931, 345).
