McLeod, William D.

McLEOD, William D. (fl. 1880-82), active in Markdale, Ontario where “…he was the architect and superintended the whole work” for the Reid Block, Main Street, MARKDALE, ONT. (Markdale Standard, 18 Nov. 1881, 3, descrip.; 2 Dec. 1881, 2, descrip.). This three storey brick block was built for A. McDougall and John Reid. That same year, McLeod was described as “the builder, contractor and architect” for the office block for the Markdale Standard Newspaper Co., MARKDALE, ONT. (Markdale Standard, 15 July 1881, 3, descrip.). No biographical information has been found on this architect.
