Bouillon, A.

BOUILLON, A. (fl. 1890-92) was described as “the architect of Vancouver” who designed a distinctive twin-spired Roman Catholic Mission Church at SECHELT INLET, B.C. in 1890 (Vancouver Daily World, 4 June 1890, 3, descrip.). Located north of Vancouver, this wood frame church cost $6,000 to construct, and it was built for the use by the aboriginal Indians, and was situated “on the south shore of the Island” . He is almost certainly the same “Arthur M. Bouillon” who is listed as draftsman with the Vancouver firm of Williams Bros. & Dawson, Surveyors and Civil Engineers in 1892 (Williams Official British Columbia Directory, 1892, 658). No other references to his architectural work have been found. (inf. Donald Luxton, Vancouver).
