McIntosh, Lynden Young

McINTOSH, Lynden Young (1908-1973) practised in Fort, William, Ont. for the duration of his career. Born there on 13 April 1908, he studied architecture at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis and graduated in 1933, then returned to the Lakehead and trained under Stafford M. Hodder. He opened an office in Fort William in 1938 and worked in that city until after 1960. He was responsible for organising the first Lakehead Chapter of the Ontario Association of Architects, and later served as President of the O.A.A. in 1959. In 1947 he formed a partnership with Earle J.W. Nickelson of nearby Port Arthur. McIntosh died at Fort William, Ont. on 2 May 1973 (biog. and port. R.A.I.C. Journal, xxii, Nov. 1945, 241)
