McCamus, Robert | Biographical Dictionary of Architects in Canada

McCAMUS, Robert (fl. 1873), was active in Orillia, Ont. and may have worked there as both an architect and a builder. In 1873 he prepared the plans and specifications for a large three storey commercial block called “Sheffield House”, a hardware emporium located on Mississauga Street, ORILLIA, ONT. (Orillia Packet, 7 Feb. 1873, 2, descrip.). That same year, he was credited with the design of another three storey commercial block for J.B. Perry & Co., a dry goods and clothing store, also located on Mississauga Street, ORILLIA, ONT. (Orillia Packet, 21 Feb. 1873, 2, descrip.). For this building, it was noted that “..the plans and specifications are by Mr. R. McCamus, who also superintended the work”
