King, Thomas Clark

KING, Thomas Clark (fl. 1894-1909) of Lacombe, Alberta maintained an office in that town for at least six years, and was listed as a member of the Alberta Association of Architects. He arrived in Alberta in 1903, where it was noted that he was an architect "...formerly of Des Moines, Iowa" (Edmonton Bulletin, 22 April 1903, 1). In the United States, he was recorded as an staff architect with the prominent Des Moines firm of Foster & Liebbe, Architects in 1894 (Des Moines City Directory, 1894, p. 413), and in 1899 he was employed as a draftsman with the firm of Liebbe, Nourse & Rasmussen, Architects (Des Moines City Directory, 1899, p. 442). In Canada, he prepared plans for a variety of commercial, educational and institutional buildings in central Alberta near Red Deer. No information has been found on his name after he left Alberta in 1910.
