THOMPSON, Christopher Craig (1894-1967), active in Toronto, Ont. as a member of several partnerships including:
Banigan, Mathers & Thompson (1917-19)
Banigan & Thompson (1919)
Banigan, Armstrong & Thompson (1920-21)
Born in Toronto on 7 March 1894, he was educated there and likely received his training from local architects. In 1917 he was invited by Joseph Banigan to join him and Alvan S. Mathers in a new partnership (see list of works under Banigan, Mathers & Thompson). When Mathers departed in 1919, their firm continued to work and were joined the following year by Norman Armstrong. From 1921 to 1923 Thompson was an Associate Partner with Eden Smith & Son, and was credited with the design of the residence for Henry W. Hunt, Inglewood Drive, TORONTO, ONT., c. 1922 (Const., xvi, Aug. 1923, 288, illus.). He left Toronto in late 1923 and moved to the U.S.A and continued to work there until 1928 before returning to Canada. After 1945 Thompson was an associate with J.E. Hoare Jr. in Toronto. He died in Toronto on 3 February 1967 (inf. Ontario Association of Architects).
