Tasse, Emile

TASSE, Emile (fl. 1921-1963), active in Montreal, Que. where he studied at the Ecole Polytechnique and graduated in 1921. He joined the Province of Quebec Assoc. of Architects in 1926, and continued to practise under his own name until he resigned from the PQAA in 1963. One of his largest commissions was for The Gables Apartments, Queen Mary Road at Ponsard Avenue, Montreal, a dense, low rise complex of five linked walk-up apartment blocks designed to offer modest accommodation as a “second class apartment building” created for tenants with moderate income. The complex survives intact and unaltered as of 2013 (inf. From the Province of Quebec Assoc. of Architects).
