SWORD, R. (fl. 1888-1895), active in Manitoba where his name appears as ‘architect’ in the town of Kemnay (near Brandon), and later in Holland, Man. (Henderson’s Manitoba, NorthWest Territories and British Columbia Gazetteer & Directory, Winnipeg Classified Business Directory, 1891, 24; Might’s Ontario Gazetteer and Directory, 1892-93, 277). He is almost certainly the same 'Mr. Sword, architect’ credited as the designer of the residence for Thomas Thompson, Rosser Avenue at 5th Street, BRANDON, MAN., 1888 (Brandon Mail, 4 Oct. 1888, 8).
