Patton, Albert Ferguson

PATTON, Albert Ferguson (1880-1949) was employed as a draftsman and later as a staff architect with Ontario Hydro in Toronto for more than thirty years. Born in Toronto on 7 April 1880 he attended evening classes at the Toronto Technical School, then trained in a number offices including G.M. Miller (1910-11), with William Fraser (1911-12), with J.P. Hynes (1912-15), with Clinton & Russell in New York City (1915-16), and C.M. Borter (1916-18). He opened an office in Toronto under his own name after 1918, and later joined the Ontario Hydro Commission where he remained for the duration of his career. Patton died in Vancouver, B.C. on 16 August 1949 (obit. Globe & Mail [Toronto], 18 Aug. 1949, 20; inf. Ontario Assoc. of Architects)
