Mendelssohn, Manuel Joseph

MENDELSSOHN, Manuel Joseph (1913-1959), active in Montreal, Que. Born there on 19 January 1913 he graduated from the School of Architecture at McGill Univ. in 1934 and trained under C. Davis Goodman and later with Max Kalman. He opened his own office in early 1936 (R.A.I.C. Journal, xiii, March 1936, 59) and specialized in the design of residential apartment blocks which were designed in a variety of eclectic styles from American Colonial to English Tudor variants. He continued to work in Montreal until 1959, and died there on 16 November 1959 (inf. Prov. of Quebec Assoc. of Architects)
