JONES, Henry [or Harry] Austin, (1869-1929) was a minor figure active in Montreal, Que. He first advertised himself as successor to William H. Hodson after the death of the latter on 22 September 1892 (C.A.B., v, Nov. 1892, vi). Jones was born in Brockville, Ont. in 1869 and maintained an architectural practice in Montreal from 1892 until 1905 when he became "Architect & Manager of Jones Brothers & Co." a firm specializing in the production of commercial woodworking for building interiors (Lovell's Montreal Directory for 1905-06). After 1908 he became associated with the Lyman Tube & Supply Co. in Montreal, and he appears to have abandoned the profession. He lived and worked in Toronto from 1921 to 1927 as manager for the Lyman Company, but returned to Montreal in 1927 and died there on 6 May 1929 (obituary Ottawa Journal, 6 May 1929, 11)
