Bernier, Joseph Albert

BERNIER, Joseph Albert (1890-1950) was born at St. Jean, Port Joli, Que. on 2 August 1890 and was active in the Montreal area from 1916 onward . No information has been found on his education or training, but in 1922 he formed a partnership with Joseph O. Despatie. Their collaboration ended in 1925 and Bernier opened an office under his own name, specializing in the design of school buildings for several parishes in the Roman Catholic diocese. After WWII he held the position of Director of Construction for the Roman Catholic School Commission of Montreal. Bernier died in Montreal on 24 June 1950 (obit.
