COMPETITIONS
EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND, Midlothian County Council Buildings, 1899. Horsburgh collaborated with Thomas T. Paterson to prepare an elaborate Edwardian design for this major public building (Academy Architecture & Architectural Review [London], xvii, 1900, Part 1, 87, illus.). Their entry placed Fifth among twenty competitors (R. Harper, Victorian Architectural Competitions, 1983, 275).
BANNOCKBURN, STIRLINGSHIRE, SCOTLAND, row housing development for the Garden City Association, 1909. Inspired by the strikingly modern vernacular style of Charles F.A. Voysey, Horsburgh submitted a design for eight linked houses (Academy Architecture & Architectural Review [London], xxxv, Part 2, 106, illus.). It is unclear who won the competition.
