HACKER, Frederick (c. 1802-1846), an early and important professional architect active in Canterbury, England and London, England from c. 1825 until c. 1828 when he moved to Canada. He was recorded in the following firms:

MONTREAL, QUE., Bonsecours Market, 1844. The office of Hacker & MacFarlane was one of eleven firms to submit an entry in this important competition (Montreal Transcript, 30 April 1844, 2), but their design was not among the finalists. The First Premium was awarded to William Footner.
