WELLAND, ONT., a 150-bed hospital, for the Welland County Hospital Board, 1907. Nicholson was one of five Ontario architects invited to submit plans for this new hospital (Daily Standard [St. Catharines], 11 Sept. 1907, 4). The winner was Langley & Howland of Toronto.
FONTHILL, ONT., public school, 1910 (Daily Standard [St. Catharines], 25 Feb. 1910, 4; and 26 Feb. 1910, 4, descrip.; C.R., xxiv, 9 March 1910, 26, t.c.). Nicholson was one of four architects who submitted plans, and he was declared as the winner.

BEAMSVILLE, ONT., High School, 1913. Nicholson was one of several architects who submitted plans, and he was declared the winner (St. Catharines Standard, 29 Aug. 1913, 2). However, a citizens group objected to the funding proposal to erect the building, and the commission was later given to W.W. LaChance.
