Adams, John

ADAMS, John (fl. 1825-32) advertised himself as surveyor, architect and civil engineer in Quebec City (Quebec Mercury, 13 April 1830, 211, advert.; 9 Oct. 1832, 1, advert.). In 1831 he submitted a plan and estimate in the competition for the proposed Penitentiary and House of Corrections at Quebec. He was not awarded the commission however, and the design prepared by Thomas Trigge was selected as winner (Lower Canada, House of Assembly Journals, xl, 1831, 78).
