OWENS, Henry (1844- c. 1921) of Strathroy, Ont. prepared a Gothic design for the twin towered Canada Methodist Church, Front Street at Maria Street, STRATHROY, ONT., 1879-80 (Western Dispatch [Strathroy], 13 Aug. 1879, 4; 14 Jan. 1880, 7, descrip.). He is likely the same 'Councillor Henry Owens' who was described as the architect for the new Vestry at St. John's Anglican Church, STRATHROY, ONT., 1911 (Free Press [London], 25 Nov. 1911, 3). In 1913 he designed St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, BEECHWOOD, ONT. (Free Press [London], 8 March 1913, 16, t.c.; History of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church 1871-1971, 15, illus.)
