REGINS, SASK., Y.M.C.A. Building, 12th Avenue at Cornwall Street, 1907. A total of six architects sent in designs for this large project (Daily Herald (Calgary), 6 March 1907, 1). The winner was Storey & Van Egmond of Regina.
REGINA, SASK., Provincial Parliament Building, 1907. Seven architectural firms from the United States, England and Canada were invited to submit drawings for this important public building. The list included leading architects such as Cass Gilbert (USA), Mitchell & Raine (England), and Darling & Pearson (Canada). Storey & Van Egmond of Regina were the only firm from Saskatchewan to be invited. Their design was publicly exhibited in January 1908, and was praised as being the only submission to meet the strict budget for the building (Saskatoon Phoenix, 21 Jan. 1908, 2). They were awarded the Second Prize for their effort. The commission was later awarded to Edward & W.S. Maxwell of Montreal.
