Ouimet, Georges | Biographical Dictionary of Architects in Canada

OUIMET, Georges (fl. 1915-1940) was active in Rivière-du-Loup, Que. where he designed a store and warehouse complex for Thomas Langlois, RIVIERE-DU-LOUP, QUE., 1915 (C.R., xxix, 23 June 1915, 50). The following year he prepared a distinctive Beaux-Arts plan for the City Hall, Lafontaine Street, RIVIERE-DU-LOUP, QUE., 1916 (Canada, Town Halls of Canada, 1987, 145, 274, illus.). In 1929 he planned a major addition to the Manoir Hotel, RIVIERE-DU-LOUP, QUE. (Canadian Hotel Review, vii, April 1929, 27). Ouimet died in Riviere du Loup on 29 May 1940.
