COMPETITIONS

ST. THOMAS, ONT., Grand Central Hotel, 1881. Sheard was one of several architects who submitted a design for this large hotel block, and he was awarded Second Prize of $30 for his effort (Globe [Toronto], 18 Nov. 1881, 8). The winner was the Toronto firm of James, Mallory & Mallory.
