BROWN, A.D., of St. John's, Newfoundland, designed a large but somewhat austere and frugal wooden structure for the Wesley Methodist Church, Alexander Street, ST. JOHN'S, NFLD., 1886-87, for which he was thanked publicly '...for his great kindness in furnishing plans and specfications of the building' (Evening Mercury [St. John's], 7 Dec. 1886, 4).
